Collaborative project with Daire Leonard and Michelle Trindade
on a Duolingo brief for D&AD Awards 2021. 
The goal of this project was to develop a solution that would introduce the famous
language learning app Duolingo to young people aged 16-22 years old on a global scale, encouraging the age group to make of  learning part of their daily habits. 
Learning a second language provides several benefits,
 from a better career development to improved brain power. ​​​​​​​

As a solution based on research done on target market behaviors and use of the app
 (both seen from a worldwide perspective) we developed Duopal: Connect. Play. Learn. 
This is a partnership between Duolingo and Facebook, the world's largest social media platform. 
The concept wants to improve the audience user experience to provide support during their learning,
however in a fun and entertaining way.
We could have chosen any other app at first, although we figured Facebook
would be the best platform that would suit what we wanted to achieve. 
The features are designed to be fitting seamlessly within the Duolingo app and brand guidelines
to provide the easiest and intuitive use.

My role in this project consisted in researching the target market, social media usage and user experience by creating mockups and interactive prototypes for the new app functions
moving from one platform to the other.  
The research part included surveys to test audience and have real life information along with developing target personas to identify who we were talking to and how to maximize the final design solution to comply with the age group needs and habits.
I have created a project proposal as well to clearly define the brief's concept and development direction as collaborative group.

Michelle was incredible at developing not just part of the research to begin with, but she has created animations, gifs and marketing campaign posters to promote the feature. 
She created a Customer Journey map to highlight key steps and crucial aspects of the target audience behavior to best help us achieve our results.

Head of project management was Daire Leonard,
due to his leadership experience when it comes to collaborative projects. 
He has established since the beginning a particularly detailed project plan, highlighting each task
and estimated time and deadlines so that we would not miss anything. 
During the whole duration of the project, we had two meetings per week to
discuss any progress, changes, and to prepare key notes for the project slides presentations,
also designed by Daire. 
His ability to encourage and motivate the group was amazing and we all worked to our strengths
 to achieve the best results possible.
